Precision questioning is a valuable skill. Good questions can strengthen any project before key decisions are made. However if you are constantly questioning the same topic, you may start to look like you are on the doubting side. If the questions persist after key decision points, then you can look like you are not a team player and even potentially a vocal dissenter. Neither of these is a plus for you. So understand what your questions are telegraphing. Questioning and stress testing ideas and positions is critical as they are forming but once a decision has been made and you know it is final, don’t continue to question the decision. Instead move on so you don’t get caught in a place you don’t want to be. So question away before the train leaves the station, but once it does, get on the train.
